• Artificial Reefs

  Oceaan is donating some resources to create structures that mimic natural reefs but more fun, providing habitats for marine life and supporting coastal ecosystems with modular reef systems for fish habitat enhancement, and seawall integration. Mobile reefs seem to be more visited by fishes than the regular fixed artificial reef design.

• Green Grey Coastal Protection

  Oceaan is donating some resources to develop and test new models of coastal protection where gray infrastructure is design in a way that serves at the same time as algae subtract for double wave attenuation effects.

• Hybrid Aquaculture Plant

  Oceaan is donating some resources to develop a proposal for the implementation of a hybrid aquaculture plant for Salmon culture. Salmon requires of fresh-water in its first steps of development, and it requires of salt water for its latter steps of development. We are supporting the design of a hybrid aquaculture plant with fresh and ocean water, using natural waterbodies and managing the water-quality of the outlets.

• Decision Making Under Big Uncertainty

  Oceaan is donating some resources to develop a proposal to use DMDU methods to find the optimal set of land-use policies for PCH in the Los Angeles and Ventura County.

• Other Pro-bono work

  Oceaan is aware of the need for in-kind services to troubleshoot critical projects. Sometimes, there are parts of the project that require in-kind services to leverage federal and or state funds. Sometimes, a critical part of the project needs to be developed within a certain amount of time to avoid harsh consequences, give us a call, and let us know how we can help. Oceaan will provide some pro-bono services to troubleshoot projects as resources allow.
